Installation of the 20-inch main across Sorenson Creek at CTH MM has been completed and the area has been restored. The Water Authority recognizes the importance of minimizing impacts to nature and works to restore the construction areas to their natural state. Following installation of the pipe across the creek, native streambed soils were replaced in the stream. In addition, the soil was placed back along the banks of the stream and sloped to match the original contours. Rip-rap was then set back into place. Topsoil and seeding were placed on the remaining stream bank. In the photo, you can see erosion matting along the bank to protect the area until the natural cover returns.
