Hand holes located approximately 1,000 to 4,000 feet apart along the pipeline route provide the crews the opportunity to install the fiber optics in segments. The segments are then fused together to make one continuous fiber optic cable. Once installed, the fiber optic cable will be used to send to data to and from Manitowoc Public Utilities and the member community's pumping stations and storage facilities. |
